When it's the only shade around for miles this pride had to make do with this rather poor excuse for an Acacia.

Hi Marc, I like the way the lions are laid out in the exact shape of the trees scant shade. Nicely composed, and taken. Tree and BG are all well composed. Very nice shot and good thinking here when the lions werent doing anything. Looks like it could be one of Hilary's shots, and that is a compliment.
On my monitor there appears to be quite a strong yellowish lightening effect happening in the sky to the left of the deep blue central part, all the way to the edge of the left cloud..not sure if anyone else sees it.
    Well done,
    Grant

    Marc,

Whilst it cannot be nice to have so little shade I am sure that this is more than made up for by the larder in the distance

No strange colours on my monitor, but it is a cheap one.

    Marc,

I like how you balanced out the elements in this image. I am thinking that a crop on the left 1/2 way between the edge and mound would balance the mound and tree better.

Marc - Nice to see wide shots depicting the expanse of Africa. I too see the yellow in the clouds though I wouldn't describe it as "strong." It is most noticeable on the left hand edge.

Nice wide view of what it takes to survive in this environment. Well thought out and composed. I see the area on lhs of image as well, looks a bit brighter and has a yellow cast in the clouds (I'm guessing it may be natural). Roberts crop suggestion would eliminate the area if you had a mind to crop as suggested. Well done.

Nice shot Marc. I like the minimalism and sense of wide open space you captured with this one.
