The Red-Crowned Cranes at the International Akan Crane Center in Hokkaido, JP, are being fed once a day which attracts also Eagles - like this immature presumably White-Tailed Eagle. Occasionally, they are successful with stealing fish right from underneath the Cranes' feet...

And yes, I wish also for a bit more of a head turn by the crane...

    Best, JR

PS: I cleaned up the snow significantly but gave up on eliminating all the grain/corn...

Really nice action shot. Looks like the crane was catched by surprise. The eagle has a great position and is well exposed and sharp. Keep them coming...

A great story you have here. The eagle looks great. Agree with your own critique about the crane but a definite keeper.

Definitely a great moment captured. The underwing detail on the eagle is amazing. This might be over the top, but maybe you could lighten the portion of the underwing near the head so that the bill stands out more? That might ruin it, but it also might be worth a try.
