I like it.....Good BG color and fine detail in the feathers, and lets not forget the great light. Would have rather had a fully open eye but can't have everything.

Nice job Kerry! I agree with Bill on all counts. Very nice BG! Did you crop this much?

Thanks guys. Dan, it was about a 50% crop - a vertical from a horizontal. Maybe someday I'll have bigger glass and smaller crops.

I thought the half-closed eye added charm, but what do I know? I've been known to break with tradition from time to time...

Nice for a 50% crop! Yea, I'd like to have big glass along with a D3s! I also like the eye as is

I like this preening pose very much. The light is awesome and the eye is fine in my book. It's nice to see the short-billed variety as I only seem to get long-bills around here.

Wonderful image. Beautiful background and great detail in the feathers. I think including the reflection would really add to the image. Well done.

Very nice gold tones in the image. Me personally, I would have preferred to see the bird's reflection. RE the eye, hmm, well I think I might have preferred it open as it is hard to sometimes "get" the photographer's intent.

Wonderful pose and details Kerry. I like the soft reflection as well.
