Managed to capture these two 11 month old bros honing their skills on a scrub hare they frightened out of it's burrow as light was fading due to an approaching storm. Enthralling to witness as the pair headed towards our vehicle, then the hare quickly did a 180deg's disappearing down a hole.

    D3s 500VR+1.4tc 1/640s ISO1600@f/7 Masai Mara, Kenya Oct 2010. 30% crop.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

You've certainly got some good action images from your trip. This really accentuates the long, mobile tail on the cheetah. This an interesting composition and you've framed them well.

Good capture of the action and both are tack sharp with good DOF on them.

Marc - exciting action well captured. I would consider cropping out the dark band of bushes across the top. As I do the scroll crop I feel it strengthens the image and impact.

Good action captured Marc. Techs look good as well as both cheetahs nice and sharp. I like Rachels crop suggestion but would go further myself with a a crop from the rhs of image an a bit off the bottom to keep a nice comp. With the converging cats I feel placing them in center works well, just something to look at. Well done.

That's the exact crop that I had originally made Todd, but felt it looked a little too central, hence this more room on the right. We're all different I guess.

Real nice action shot, Marc. Love the intense looks on their faces, and the long tails flying.
    Nice work!

Nice action shot. Really like the tails going off in opposite directions and the leaning body positions. Also like surroundings you captured them in. Ideally, would've liked a little more light in the eyes of the cheetah on the right (as viewed) but doesn't look like conditions allowed although they may be visible in the original size?

Nice action shot Marc, agree on a more central position, why is this against the rules?

I don't see a problem with a central crop for these cats. There is still lots of strength in the composition because you get an interesting 'v' shape from the tails down to the heads. Some central compositions look dull, but no way would this one ever be dull.
