Default Heading home for the night

This spoonie was imaged courtesy of Capt.James Shadle, who took Daniel, Roman and myself out for a fun afternoon. Towards the end of the light, many of the spoonies were heading out, and this good looking fellow flew across a nice green background for me.

Randy, lovely light, bg and pose. I wish for more room in front of the bird and little less behind. Thanks for sharing.

What a great looking spoonie, and it's nice and sharp. I wonder if you worked on the BG here or if the spoonie and BG were separated enough to give you this blur. You had killer light for your adventure!

I shiver every time I see the underside of these guys wings, so much smooth colorful details to be seen. A very clean and well plumaged bird. The wings outstretched is killer. A classic pose well imaged.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments

Mariana: The only work I did on the BG was to darken a tan stick in the extreme right upper corner. I knew that Daniel would bust me for it, if left alone. I was fortunate that the bird was far enough away from the background to give the nice blur. Often it is a pretty cluttered BG there.

    Cheers

I wish we had pink "Spoonies" in Australia. Would be nice addition to the beautiful birds we get down here.

    Love the flexed primaries.

Hey Randy, good luck on your side to fly across such a nice BG - always better than sky. Good eye contact, and I like the wing position. The sharpness looks good too. Well captured.

    Hi Randy,

Nice light and beautiful detail and colour captured in the underwing. Like the curled up primaries and great BG has been mentioned.

Awesome full-frame image Randy! I like the pose with the wings pushing downwards. Nice mottled BG...but if it were mine I'd lighten the tan stick in URC (just kidding )

Great flight shot against a fantastic BG Randy! All the more impressive that it's full frame.

Very nice Randy, sharp, beautiful light, nice background. Legs almost look like they are folded at first glance.
