Taken on Jamestown Island in Virginia. Sony A700, 70-400G @400mm, f8, 1/1000, iso 1000, +2.7 ec. I left the BG alone. 70% of FF, Levels, curves, small amount of S/H, sharpen.
Peter- If you darken up the underwings a bit, it would reduce the impact of the noise. I like the composition too. IMO I do't find that images from below like this as effective as ones at eye level. If you are lucky in situations from below, you may get the bird looking down and in that case the extra eye-contact compensates to some extent.
A great flight shot for me Peter. I think the high ISO took its toll through the increase noise. I'm not sure how to fix it though as I am still developing my PP skills.
Yes, there is a lot of noise. I suspect it is due to the high ISO of 1000. A lower ISO setting compensated with a larger aperture I'm fairly sure would reduce the noise.
