    Backyard Setup. Sony A700, 70-400G @ 400mm, f7.1, 1/800, iso 400, 60% of FF
    I toned down the bright area (oof tree) in the BG and ran NR on BG. Levels and sharpening on bird. I did a second round of sharpening on the head. I also reduced the brightness and size of the catchlight.

    Peter:

    Thanks for the detailed description of your processing, really helps understand how the image developed. I think the changes were all for the good.

    I like the pose,perch and muted BG. Some might suggest toning down the reflections of the top of the beak.

    Nice and sharp Peter, and I like the detail and colours on the finch. I can see where he gets his name from. Cool curved perch.

    Bird and BG looks great. As this is a set-up, I wish for a more interesting perch.
