    The biggest downside of this image is the large branch going right through the middle. Would love to see a bit more room behind the bird. With higher ISO you could have gone for a bit more DOF.

    I agree with Clemens as far as the branch, rather dominating. More DOF however, would have made it even worse, so shooting wide open was probably your best choice in this location.

    If you could have moved to your right, it might have pushed the branch further into the background.The light is soft here, and not much of a problem re: light angle.

    Lovely bird, nicely scaled perch.
