    Default Marveleus Spatuletail

Finally i was able to do a trip to photograph the most beautiful hummingbird, the marveleus spatuletail.
It was really hard to find, and only showed once in a full week, at around 6.40pm (almost completly dark).
Is not the best image, but i really like this one.

    D300s ISO High 1 70-300VR @270mm F5.6 1/10sec (it was really dark). Sb600 @1/2
    manual exposure

PP. lots of noise reduction. i know the image is soft. but i really like it.

    Hope to hear your critiques.

    Cheers,

    Alfredo

Very nicely done considering the very low SS.

Wow. What an interesting looking bird, and good for you to finally get it.

I think image may be improved by selective removal of some of the high light sticks and leaves.

Pose is perfect to show off the tail.

Wow, that is a wonderful species of hummingbird!! At first glance I thought it was too small in the frame...until I got glimpse of the incredible tail:eek:

I find the flashed look quite strong, and pity the bird gets lost in the BG. Perhaps a bit more TLC in post can give the image a bit more of a boost.

It must have been a thrill to see this one....
