Green-winged Teal
Southern California
I think I posted a shot earlier in the season of this same species but it wasn't in full breeding plumage as this one is looking its best.

Jim:
Like the full down, slight angle towards, vivid colors, nice eye, sharpness, drops.
Another fine capture.

James, I have never seen colors off the chart like that! Wow! Sharp and well exposed w/ a complimentary BG.![]()
Beautiful picture.
Are the colors that distinct on the teal or did you pop them for emphasis?
Simply superb James!![]()
Fantastic image! As about a perfect flight shot of a duck as you can get!
Nailed it, Jim!!! Perfect in every regard. I just came in from watching a few of these fine looking ducks swimming just out of range on my local lake -- couldn't even get a good swimming shot, much less in flight. This one sets the standard.
About as sweet as it gets! Love everything about it, Jim.
Beautiful capture of one of our most beautiful waterfowl, the green-winged teal. You are helping people to see the sometimes subtle differences of fall and spring plumage. Wonderful shot, my friend.

Perfect Jim, this one is over the top!!!

Wow, love everything about this, the sharpness, the color, the details, the flight pose and the small water droplets coming off the bird. Excellent image, TFS.

I can only envy this shot !
Great lighting ,action,color,etc,etc
Awesome image!
I've been trying to photograph this species here in Seattle, but I am not happy with any photo yet. Next day we have a sunny day here, I will perch myself at the ponds close to work and wait for one to fly by in the right direction. You have given me inspiration James. Thanks for sharing!
Another stunner James. Colors are sweet as well as the pose. Very well done.

Perfection James. BIF perfection.
Stunningly perfect and beautiful. Big Congrats! JR
great bird, great image.
When is the BIF how to book coming out?
Everything's been already said. Stunning work Jim!
No nits here. I like the colours and the great incoming head position.
Dam you missed it!Hey no chance well caught!
lovely capture the colours are beautiful
James, you post so many incredible BIF images, but I rate this one of your best. Perfect flying posture, and inturn, shows of the colours very well. Very well captured.
James, really beautiful rendition of the plumage on this duck. What a great looking bird, and you captured it just perfectly.
I normally would prefer a little something going on in the background (clouds, reflections, whatever) to heighten interest but the details and colors you have here are so nice that I think placing the interest squarely on the bird really works for this image.
Cheers,
Greg Basco
Another stunner, Jim. I can't add anything to the previous comments. You set a very high standard with your bif images.
TFS, Peter
James, this is one of the best green winged teal in flight shots I have seen. these dudes are so tough to nail. the sharpness, colors, angle, Bg, wing position....everything is spot on.
James what a shot, love the detail in the shot. The birds colours are superb TFS![]()
