I think I posted a shot earlier in the season of this same species but it wasn't in full breeding plumage as this one is looking its best.

    Jim:

Like the full down, slight angle towards, vivid colors, nice eye, sharpness, drops.

    Another fine capture.

James, I have never seen colors off the chart like that! Wow! Sharp and well exposed w/ a complimentary BG.

    Beautiful picture.

Are the colors that distinct on the teal or did you pop them for emphasis?

Thanks All !!! Nothing was done to the image remember these are iridescent feathers so it is a matter how the feathers are hitting the light and in this case it was almost perfect.

Nailed it, Jim!!! Perfect in every regard. I just came in from watching a few of these fine looking ducks swimming just out of range on my local lake -- couldn't even get a good swimming shot, much less in flight. This one sets the standard.

Beautiful capture of one of our most beautiful waterfowl, the green-winged teal. You are helping people to see the sometimes subtle differences of fall and spring plumage. Wonderful shot, my friend.

Wow, love everything about this, the sharpness, the color, the details, the flight pose and the small water droplets coming off the bird. Excellent image, TFS.

    Awesome image!
I've been trying to photograph this species here in Seattle, but I am not happy with any photo yet. Next day we have a sunny day here, I will perch myself at the ponds close to work and wait for one to fly by in the right direction. You have given me inspiration James. Thanks for sharing!

James, you post so many incredible BIF images, but I rate this one of your best. Perfect flying posture, and inturn, shows of the colours very well. Very well captured.

James, really beautiful rendition of the plumage on this duck. What a great looking bird, and you captured it just perfectly.

I normally would prefer a little something going on in the background (clouds, reflections, whatever) to heighten interest but the details and colors you have here are so nice that I think placing the interest squarely on the bird really works for this image.

    Cheers,
