    Putting your out of focus background in front of your subject is a technique know as Cramming. I like to use frequently, and here was an opportunity to do it.
    Cape Coral, during Artie's SW Florida IPT

    D3, 200-400/4 VR
    f/8, 1/640, ISO 640
    Tripod to lower setting, in the ground, no flash

    Gorgeous Fab. Very sharp. I don't know if I like that effect over half of the frame, maybe just a hair lower.

    I like the composition and setting a lot! I might raise the color temperature a tad.

    With that technique, the eye stands out extremely well.
    Definitely, the bokeh is much better than on a D2 serie !

    I like it as is, very beautiful and effective. I like the relaxed eye.

    I love the cramming but would have liked to have seen you point your lens a bit to the right.
