Hi Russell, this is a very strong shot for me. Like the light, the composition with the distant OOF treeline, placement of cheetah, and the upturned tail tip adds something special.
    Well done

Russell, you've achieved a lovely layered effect with this image which is really nice. Placement of cheetah is good, nice detail in eye and agree with Grant that the upturned tail adds an extra something to the image.

    Russell,

Very nice composition, nice to see some some short grass, pesumably in The Kwara concession?

Apparently getting very wet up at Tsum Tsum now.

This looks too red to me, is this better? Not really helped by JPEG to JPEG.

A fantastic image, prefer the OP image as Ken version has a blue cast in the shadow area. The opening image also has a slight blue cast but is better. It can be taken out by using selective colour in the blue channel, taking away Magenta and Cyan. I really love the colours and layered BG.

    Russell,

I like it for all the reasons mentioned by Grant and Hilary. I like the reduction on the red too and combined with removing the blue cast as Vivaldo recommended your good to go in my book. Of course the deep red may be as was present in the light that day so totally up to you - though I would recommend removing the blue cast.

fantastic image Russel...I love the light, low angle and pose with the curled tail...
I like the "red" OP since it appears to be taken in that time of day - being an "African" I love images that reflect that golden African light.

I too would remove some blue and magenta in the shadow areas :)

Beautiful image Russel. I liked the original post more due to the golden cast on Cheetah. However I feel the signature could be a little smaller and in the bottom.. What do you say ?

Russell - Great comp and a beautiful image. I don't mind the cast in the OP as I imagine it is more representative of the light shot but it would be interesting to play with the suggestions.

Nicely composed in nice light Russell. Both versions work (with mentioned blue cast removed), only you know which is a more accurate depiction of the scene. Well done.

Thanks for all the comments. This image was taken just after a rain storm, when the light is very intense.

I will look to see if I can get the blur cast removed from the shadows.

Ken, this was taken at Tsum Tsum.

Grant & Hilary - the tail was one of those bonuses you only see when you start processing your images.

Great light and I like the horizontal comp.
