Bob has been one of my most popular subjects, so I thought I would share another one. I used Pixel Bender Oil for the final output, started with Topaz InFocus to bring out some detail before using PB. Used Topaz ReMask3 to isolate Bob from the bg, then mostly removed same bg. I left a little bit of the forest in the fg to help frame him. Yes, I do love drama in an image...

Great poseLi. the soft fur makes me want to pet him but the eyes and alert ears say Watch Out! I like what the filters have done to the grass, too.

Really impressive work Kerry. I almost believe that if you were to mask the eyes back in, they would stare a hole right through you . Love it as is also.

This is one of the best applications of PB I've seen! Nice work on the background too.

That is awesome, Kerry! The face and fur texture look great. Very well thought out treatment with Topaz filters.

I really like the subject, it comes across well w/ this plugin. I am not sure about the solid black BG, it seems a little too sterile.

    Kerry,

This is one of my all time favorites of yours. Beautiful work using PB. Love the pose captured as well as the quality of the light.

Thanks for comments all, I appreciate them! I was fortunate to have a few minutes (looking at the exif for the series it was 14 minutes) with this beautiful animal. He was not at all intimidated by my presence, as you can tell, but I do have some images of him snarling at me too.

Chris, you are right on the money about the bg. I obsessed over it for about an hour and finally decided to do what I did with it for OOTB. The cat was lounging under some dense overgrowth and no matter what I did with the image it ended up being too busy and taking away from the subject. I found my original post of this bobcat in the wildlife forum, exactly a year ago. If you look you can see what I mean - http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...p/54500-Bobcat
