Excellent incoming pose Kaus, and the duck really stands out against the lighter colourful BG. The lower body and tail seem sharper than the head.

Nice landing pose Kaustubh. Well done with difficult colours to manage. Would also consider a touch more sharpness on the head.

Beautiful Image. I really like the slight blur in the wings. This really gives the shot a sense of speed. I think the crop really works as well. I can't think of anything to improve. Great Job !

wow - great pose with the open wings, nice clean background with the perfect amount of water detail at the bottom. Lovely shot.

    Thx a lot everyone.

I agree that the focus is not sharpest on the head. Very hard to maintain the center point on the head....these guys are too fast and 40D latches on the BG very quickly. To increase my keeper rate, I try to maintain the AF point at a point where it is easier to do so...usually the breast area in such shots...and let DOF take care of the rest.

Lovely action, lighting and contrasting colours of bg to the bird. The eye contact on this one is very good and the lack of slight head sharpness does not detract for the overall shot.
