From my recent trip to Florida. Taken with Randy and Daniel on our last morning out shooting together. It was a really fun morning and I was concentrating on the white pelicans skating after we finished up with the ring necked ducks. Didn't get many opportunities until a bit later in the morning...this is the best of the series, so will have to try it again when I return to the Hooptie in a few weeks with my tour!

    Roman:

I like him skating in on a diagonal, with nice wing position, head clear of merge (even though the bill merges, it stands out well).

Sharp and well exposed. On my monitor, it could probably go 1/3 stop brighter, matter of taste really.

    Def. worth a return visit!

    Cheers

    Randy

Like the skating pose and the fully outstretched wings. I'd go a little brighter, like Randy suggested.

Roman, liked the crop and the angle of the bird..which is so important with this landing pose.

Hey Roman, you nailed this landing. Well timed, and with a great wingspread. I like the placement in the frame too.

As mentioned Roman, nice landing pose and wingspread. Good defenition in the whites but I love the gorgeous light on the Pelican and on the water.

A pleasing image indeed! Just wish for a lower shooting angle which could have taken this to the next level.

I like this one as posted Roman. Before you got this image you were really hoping for a "skater"...well, you got it!!

That was certainly a great spot...very productive!!

I was sitting on the shore Ofer......lower angle would have introduced other birds, the far shoreline, and the building there as this was in the city center. Besides.....I don't always subscribe to the school tha lower is always better! If that theory was true.....we wouldn't have issues of loking up at birds in trees. Thanks again all!

Just for the record IMHO lower is almost always better (in order to get to eye level), however, not always possible as in this case...
