    Default Camouflage!

Another one from SWFL IPT... we were out one evening for Burrowing Owl in Cape Coral. As we exhausted enough ways to get their attention and posture, I switched to zoom blur in low light and here is one from that effort. I cropped to get the bird off center. Adjusted levels and selective colors. Hope you like it.

Very nice zoom blur, Indranil. I like the colors and comp. I would just sharpen the head area of the owl a bit, it looks kind of soft.

Indranil, You know I love this one!! Excellent zoom and well done in-camera work. I might add a little sharpening to the face. Nicely done.

Indranil, really nice work and I think the repost is stronger. Great idea to go for the zoom blur. Nicely done!

Very cool zoom blur, Indranil. Like the crop, and the sharpening on the repost, puts it over the top!

    The repost is top-shelf.

Attention everyone, this is how you do a zoom blur!

    How about the techs?

    Indranil,

Love the zoom blur effect as the essence and power behind the bird's eyes seems to fly off the image toward the viewer. The re-post is much stronger with the added sharpening. Well done.

Indranil, Thanks again for joining us. I like the one with the sharpened eyes better.

Here is a suggestion for similar situations: when you are creating zoom blurs like this, make one or two sharp images at a fast shutter speed so that you can use the eyes with your zoom blurs.

I do love the effect and the look that you created by thinking out of the box.

Thanks Artie. I really like the idea of making few sharp images for blur!

    Excellent zoom-blur, Indranil!
The OP looks good, the repost looks even better! I'm thinking you could go even sharper on the face, maybe using high pass sharpening.
