I used 2 textures on the background and masked the bird.

Really nice composition, Judy! Love the 2 texture BG and its warm coloring, it really complements the beautiful texture and detail of the cowbird. Excellent capture, HA, diagonal perch all make for very pleasing design. Well done!

    Judy,

I also like the composition and the color and texture used in the background. Beautifully done.

I like the mood presented by the darkness of the image though if it were mine, I might try dodging the two left hand corners and bringing a bit more detail into the underside of the bird.

Beautiful color and texture, Judy. It resembles a plate for Audubon's collection! I am in two minds about the stick behind the bird's head. Let's see what others feel. TFS.

Beautiful image, Judy! I love the warm colors; the orange of the BG especially goes well the bird. Excellent pose and textures too. I might clone out the branch behind the bird's head as Indranil suggested, but I'm not sure. Very well done!

Repost... I couldn't do much dodging because it started going gray even using a 50% gray layer for dodging. I couldn't lighten the belly because of noise. I removed the branch behind his head and made a few other minor corrections.

Really like the BG color combo and how it compliments the Cowbird. Repost is great. Wonder if you can, bring back/put in, just a tiny bit of texture from where you cloned out the branch? This will be a beautiful print!
