Another from the ice storm a few weeks ago. Cloned out a few distractions on the snow. This one is a bit sharper than my recent Carolina Wren post, maybe because I backed off the zoom just a little, or maybe the slight increase in SS helped?? C&C appreciated.

Very nice, Bill! I also love that splash of red on the ice of the branch! Nice HA, good detail from top to bottom, reds seem in check. I think you might be able to take a small slice off the right side of the frame but I do like it as presented as well.
You're right about the image being sharper and both reasons you gave can account for this. Also, don't forget - we're always at the mercy of a slight breeze or the teetering of a bird - those can throw the image off as well. It's not always the camera's fault!
Hi Bill, I sure have enjoyed your images this winter. The splash of red on the ice such a sweet detail. I also like the rather forlorn look of the cardinal.
I was also thinking I need to comment on the lovely reflection in the ice, and then saw that all previous comments got there already. So seems unanimous that its a great detail! Lovely image
Bill-Agree with all the comments, nicely done! I think this image is dying for a caption as I'd swear the bird is wanting to say something, maybe something about enough of this weather! Alex
