Morkel didn,t do anything to the sun, besides adding some saturation to the sky.

Hi Vivaldo, id this a later image from the 'charging' herd shot you posted a while back?

An arresting scene and again the colours work well and nicely captured, but would agree with Morkel about some more sharpening, however your eye does get drawn to that setting sun, not too much you can do on that I guess.

Nice eliescape Vivaldo. This would make a nice pano as well (surprised Morkel did not mention it ). Nice colors, agree with a touch more sharpening on the herd. Actually like the bold sun. Well done.

    Vivaldo,

Well you certainly had some nice Elephant in Nxai, when we were last ther in March 2008, we saw one in 4 days.

I agree totally with Todd that this is in need off a large crop rom the top luckily the sun will remain.

Also a little sharpening or boost in contrast.

    Here is my effort

Thanks very much for suggestions and comments I like your version Ken, looks better with a bit more sharpening and saturation. I just think that the opening version is more what I saw that afternoon but still prefer your version as it make the image pop a little more. I will post another from the series later today, hopefully you guys will prefer it. Steve you are correct, these were the same Ellies that were charging towards the waterhole.

Morkel tx for commenting, funny you asked about the sun as it not the first time I have noticed this?
I cannot explain why this happens but sun does change when working in PS and it does look a bit odd. The only thing I can think of is it changes when downsizing for the web and could also be when one changes the profile from RGB1998 to SRGB.

    Vivaldo,

I like Ken's crop but prefer the OP for the "big sky" look. Sharpening on the ellie's just right. Wonderful image and well composed scene.
