Last year, winter, -27C, feeder, distance - 1.5m, 100% full frame.
Nikon D300s, 300 afs f4, iso200, f7.1, 1/100, CNX 2.x.
Finally, CS5, i added canvas on the left and a bit on the top.
Look very sharp with excellent details on the bird, exposure looks good too. I might add more canvas on the left and cut some off the right. Just wish the tail is a bit off the branch but the pose is already good as it is :D
Beautiful Vladimir. Love the pose and head angle. Very sharp and nice light. The head is in just the right place. The only small thing I might so if it were going up on a wall is to remove the out-of-focus (OOF) thing, centre bottom. This will be tricky because you will have to clone in some spruce branch. It can be done!
By the way the English name for this bird is the Hawfinch. A "haw" is the fruit of the Hawthorn, which a a bit like a very small apple.
Absolutely lovely, Vladimir. I would have liked a bit more space below the bird, and yes, I too would remove the OOF thingy there, but a wonderful image.
Wow! He jumps right out of the image and grabs your attention. Thank you for posting this image - I've never seen this bird in RL and this image shows him off in great style.
Vlad, you really do a great job of getting a crisp detailed bird! I, too would reorientate the bird within the frame, giving it more to the left and bottom and less on the right. (Remember that you usually want more space on the side of the frame that the bird is looking into than the side that he's not.) Getting a bit more room on the bottom would have added in the rest of the tail and not made the feet feel so close to the edge of the frame.
