    Avian Sociable Lapwing- Kutch

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Dear All,

Made this image in last December at Kutch, India. EXIF as below:

    1D MK III + 500 f/4+1.4E
    f/5.6 1/400 ISO-400 0 Exposure Compensation

BTW, I have been trying out the RAW image processing nicely explained by Artie's in his tutorials. Please give me your feedback on the overall quality- specifically PP..

    Thanks a Lot..
    Subbu

Totally stands out , Subbu . The ground level perspective makes it all the more interesting .

Great low angle, nice colours, and the PP looks well done. I just wish the subject (or at least its head) was angled our way a bit more.

Even before I read Daniel's post, I'd noticed the slightly imperfect HA. I like your PP, but I'm wondering whether the BG and foreground are not a bit unnaturally blurry; your depth of field looks as thin as a razor here. Could your midtones be a tad brighter? I regret not seeing the plover's feet but salute you for your low angle; I actually feel as if I'm a bit lower than the bird. I admire your banded BG. Sharpness is good. I raise my glass to you, and to plovers, a family I love.

Beautiful soft lighting and fantastic low shooting angle. Love the oof background. PP work looks good to me. I might have been tempted to take a bit off the bottom. don't know if the head would take just a little more USM? HA noted.

Thanks all.. Yes, the HA could have been a bit better. I will dig into my other images of this bird if I have anything better :-)

Excellent image pity the feet are missing, regards other possibilities I would certainly consider a little more space on the left so that there is twice as much space in front vs behind the bird.
