I like the mood here bud and the fact that the tusks are still visible...I just find myself wishing there was more of the ellie protruding from the grass...

how about shaving some off the top?

Hi Dumay, I have come back to this several times as I'm just uncertain about the image.

I like the tones and quality of light, but I feel the Elephant is just too dominant (no pun intended), even as a silhouette. Whether, if there is any, some more defined form coming through on the elephant rather than a 'black' shape, giving the shape as I say, form & sculpture to it, might be worth a look perhaps?

Agree with Morkel on the crop idea and Steve on the need for more than a pure black elephant. Good thought, but not working for me as presented. Would like to see if you can get more out of this one.

    Dumay,

I think I can understand your concept here, but think that less negative EV may have helped it is IMHO a lot easier to adjust the BG than the subject. Tried with your image but the resuls were not much of an improvement.

Hi Dumay, I like the colours and the textures here, specially the BG, did you by any chance take something with a shorter focal length, a wider elescape perhaps...?

Good concept and I think a pano crop (less on top) would be good. Elephant as silhouette, for me and as mentioned above, he seems but too big in the frame and dominates the scene w/o and detail.
