    Default Postcard for the birds

I have had this postcard texture for quite a while and decided to use it with this photo of a cowbird that I took yesterday. I also used a texture over the postcard set to color mode to change the original color. I added some noise to the bird. The branch doesn't look too good but I did darken it some.

Beautiful card and texture, Judy. Nice looking cowbird. I like the posture and the overall color tone. TFS.

Wow, Cool card and script, Judy. Bird, texture and card very nicely presented and blended.

Judy, I think this came together quite nicely. The cowbird is perfect for the postcard, with the colors that fit it so nicely. I think the branch is fine. Very well done.

I think the postcard itself, with the texture and signs of aging is excellent, in itself the bird is very good. I'm thinking it would be better as an old postcard with an equally old bird image, as opposed to an old postcard and a new bird image. In the case of the former I would expect the bird image more degreded by age and the jagged lines and creases evident in the paper to also be evident. regards~Bill

Nice old postcard, Judy. The cowbird goes well with it, though I agree with Bill that it would be even better with the bird aged too. I love the texture.

Judy, Nice postcard template and you did a great job putting it all together. I agree w/ above suggestion by Bill regarding the aging of the bird. I am also not a fan of mid-air perches but you did a good job fading it out.

Very creative and well executed. Might look good with an "aged" bird as mentioned. Just don't know how you would make the bird look older. Maybe you need an image of a bearded vulture.

    Judy,

I love the look of this image as presented. The lack of creases in the bird doesn't bother me as the creases in the card are light and faint and if they were in the bird would most likely get lost in the darkness of the feathers. Beautifully done.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. I agree I should have tried to age the bird a bit. Maybe I'll get back to it

Thanks Denise. I agree about the perch for this collage but loved the sort of antique-ish colors of the bird so I tried to blend it in. I should have tried to age the bird but I ran out of energy.

Really nice! Textures are so much fun, I love the antique look of this postcard texture and the photo of the cowbird on it really works! :)
