Default Bald Ealge - The Leftovers

One of the things I'm curious about is do you think the square crop works for this image?

    Thanks for your input.

Matt, nice action captured with good color and detail. Timing wise I think the next moment would have been better with the wings up. I do feel that the action is too confined with this crop and I would suggest more room on the top and left.

What a display Matt. You have done very well in capturing the action. Love the Eagle's look and the way it is dragging the flesh.

Love the detail and color in this image! I know I would love to have an image like this.

I do find the crop a bit tight on the top and sides. Do you have more room to work with?

    thanks

    Matt:

I don't have any particular fear of square crops, and do use them. I do agree however that the subject in this image would benefit from more room top and left.

I agree with Kerry about a wings up pose being somewhat stronger. It shows the under surface wing detail better and would give more of a sense of the power of the bird as it lifts off.

Having said this, it still is an effective image, and I like the inclusion of the rocky shore.

    Cheers

Wow, what great capture. Detail in the bird and fish remains is amazing. Great exposure too. Agree that a square crop doesn't do this action justice. Why did you choose it? JR

    Thanks for all the critique.

@ Joerg - I was trying different crops as I felt all my shots were landscape orientation, and wanted to play around abit. I wasn't sure if this worked or not.
