This Long-billed Curlew was one of a flock that were bathing in a pond on the beach. Handheld laying on the ground.

Good job Aidan! Super angle, exposure, and detail. Very nicely done.

gorgeous light, action and angle here Aidan!
did you level by the water level in front of the bird or the shoreline behind?
Love the action and low angle.
Aidan, beautiful capture. Love the low angle, light and the water splash.
POV makes this image. I like the bill in the water and the front foot action. And the flying drops of water.
Awesome view Aidan.
This is a great photo of my favorite bird! I've only seen a few when I was on vacation in northern California, and it was always poor light. Seemed to be par for the course for July there.
Thanks all for the comments!
Morkel, I used the brown line to level, as the water line isn't straight all the way across.
Liked the low angle and the water splashing with a great BG
Aidan, Beautiful pose and soft reflection colors. Nice low angle, well done.![]()
Wow that background is amazing - and the water droplets are a very nice touch. Wonderful.
thanks
Charles
Super lovely low angle. Great that the water was so calm. Sharpness appears to be great and the droplets of course add a lot. The only thing a bit strange to me is the coloring of the bird. When I have seen them they appeared to be less yellowish. I know it depends on the light (and monitor as well as its calibration) but thought I'd mention it. JR
