Lying on my stomach within arms reach. Environment a bit busy but thought it was pretty cool that these guys "approched me" this close. Reifel Bird Sanctuary, BC.

Nice perspective and feeding pose. The comp is a little tight IMO. Hard to imagine a tight crop of a bird at 22mm!! As you said the environment is a tad busy, but I kind of like it here as shows the birds habitat so well.

    Keep them coming!

don't always see them this close with environment included - nice one Todd! perhaps a bit of a curves adjustment needed for "pop"?

Cool perspective - way to go in thinking about experimenting with a different lens. Busy, for sure, but the biggest culprits IMO are the thin twigs above the back and URC.

Very cool perspective. I know it is hard to lay on the ground and get a level shot, but if you have more room it looks as if it could use a little CW. TFS love these different type of shots

Agree it's different and I like the environmental aspect. Also agree it's a bit too tight and could use some adjustment (fill light, s/h) to give it some pop.
Here's my spin on it by selecting the bird and applying s/h, b/c, and dodging the eye and red part of the head.

Good thinking on the wide angle and getting nice and low. It really gives the viewer your perspective. Agree it's a tad tight but I like the idea here.

I like what you have created here Tod. Love the environment and detail. If anything I might consider a little more room on the right but like it as is.

Great OOTB thinking Todd, and this works for me. Good feather detail captured, and the head feeding down at your level looks good.

Wow. What a stunning perspective. And great sharpness as well. Just a bit tight all around but worthwhile further exploring...

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Will have a look at the suggestions made. Unfortunately the room I have is abit behind and a bit below.
