    Default Old Pickup HDR

Out shooting the other day , when it was mild here. After walking the beach I stopped at a local fish market to pick up something for dinner. They have added this old Chevy pick-up in front , for a decoration of sorts. This is a 5 image HDR shot at 1 stop increments and processed in Photomatics with the grunge preset , then adjusted from there. Cropped slightly off the left to eliminate some distracting elements.

PS. Denise , when you guys come here this summer we need to go here for lunch. Great seafood.

    Joe,

Nicely done HDR image. I like the composition with the angle of the truck and I'm assuming, the effect caused by using a wide angle lens close to the subject. If the image were mine, I might tone down the highlight on the front bumper or try to recover a bit of detail there.

Joe, I love the flat tire and the wide angle lens makes this look awesome. Nice composition and the processing looks great. Richard makes a good suggestion regarding the front bumper. Joe, I really like your vision for these HDR's-they are fun and dramatic. YES to Seafood lunch!! I can't wait for the summer

    Hi Joe,
Old trucks are a favorite of mine. Great perspective, comp, color and HDR detail. If it were mine I would try to eliminate some of the ghosting (mostly horizontal) in the tree, clouds and top fender/headlight. The flat tires make an innovative anti-theft devise.

What a great angle on this! Wonderful HDR. I don't mind the bright highlights so much, I think they add to the overall effect. Love the flat tire

I love the angle and distortion and the highlight doesn't bother me. Nice processing too

Nice HDR work Joe. You have a very good handle on using this technique without overdoing it. The old truck looks like it is in need of a long rest, so I think it has found a good home. Is it possible that the clouds moved while you were making these exposures? It seems to me that there is some repeating of the cloud patterns just above the hood.

It was a bit windy , so cloud movement is possible. That would account for the repeating patterns as there was no cloning done to this image. Need to shoot a little faster next time.

Nothing to say that hasn't been said. Just adding my congrats. Thanks to Kerry for noting the cloud pattern problem. I must make a mental note also to be quick in exposures for HDR to avoid such.
