    Default ibis in flight

I was experimenting using flash and slow shutter speeds. Not too many success, and I'm not sure how successful this one is, but it does strike me. I wish the eye was visible but do like the transparentness of the wing feathers.

    cheers

    Gavin,

I think this one came out pretty cool looking. I like it. I don't much prefer my soaring ones to wings flapping, but here it worked well with a soft look to the bird at the 1/25 sec. shutter speed.

Hi Gavin There are no rules for these images but I would rather have a sharper head There is a strange look without it To obtain a sharp head you need to pan perfectly with the bird It is possible and even at lower shutter speeds !!!

If you go after many of this images might suggest using a neutral density filter You won't have to stop down so much !!! Saves time in dust spotting !!!1

Wish I could see the eye, though...
