Another colorful image from Costa Rica workshop with Doug Brown and Greg Basco. This one from Laguna del Lagarto, where we had 3 days of non-stop action photographing Toucans, Aracaris, Parrots, Tanagers, Woodpeckers, Honeycreepers and a long list of other species. I love the OOF palm fronds in the background.

What a bird. Great pose and perch. I love the colors around the eye, and the palm bg. Nicely exposed.

Very cool. Awesome comp, and I too like the palm leaf in the BG. I'd be tempted to darken the brightest part of the perch.

The BG makes this image Bill. And it is an accurate depiction of what the BG looked like. Would have liked the head slightly more towards the viewer, but otherwise a real beauty!

Like this a lot - new species for me - I agree that the fern in the background OOF is pretty cool.

Good looking species, and that OOF palm leaf puts this over the top.

Ditto what others have said. Love the species. Sure hope I can get to that area of the world some day.
