    Default Egret Old Photo

Decided to try out my aging techniques on Artie's egret. After converting to B&W, I used four of my own textures plus two from Shadowhouse Creations, "Beneath the Surface 1" and "Rustic 7." Then since the image was too sharp for an old photo, I duplicated the image layer, moved it off by a few pixels, and reduced it's opacity to 20%. I also added a slight blur overlay.

Christopher, I like this aged look with the texture and the color tone. I like your approach in reducing the sharpness. It makes it so much more authentic. Excellent as always.

Nice creative texture & layer work Christopher. This looks like a B&W photo of an ancient painting on stone or slate.

Good thinking Christopher to get some softness into the base image. Excellent aging as always! I like the vignetting for this one too. Well done.

Great aged look, Christopher! Thanks for sharing your process. Enjoy how the effect always "adds" more to the image/story.

Knew it was yours before I saw your name. It is so "you". Thanks for the info on how you did it, though, esp the last steps to make it older looking. Good job.

Looks great, Christopher. I love the 'old' textures you use in your work!

Aged look is a winner every time Chris, I like the spots and scratches.. really give it that look of being in an antique store, somewhere waiting to be found...TFS

Christopher, You are creating quite a fine collection of antiqued images. I like the toning but what stands out most to me is the left side of the Egret where the feather detail is visible-sweet!

Beautiful antique look Christopher. The photo looks like a treasure found in an old box in someone's attic. Well done.
