I kike the fox a lot but the BG is not very helpful, for me at least.
    I
find the red a little too stong, and the light patches and dark patches between neck and legs could do with some work, although it would be for me very difficult.

I'm not sure why you added the red filter, I assume it was added as it does appear to finish rather abruptly but I don't feel that it helps the fox. The colour appears to clash with the wonderful colours of the fox itself.

I think the colours and detail in the fox, with the tongue and the ripples of water is very good.

Have to agree also, plus the lighting on the face further enhances.

Thanks all for the CC :)

No filter used here. The red you see is coming from a garbage dumpster in a parking lot where the fox was sipping from a puddle.

I will post a more traditional image of him later with a natural background.

Noelle, I'm amazed. Thanks for clearing up the source of the red. Look forward to seeing more.

Here is the original image. Unfortunately the puddle ended or I would have had a great reflection.

Hi Noelle, appreciate adding the explanation and then the full image.

When posting, it is always very helpful to include information/background about the shot posted, as it helps clarify certain key points the viewer may not need to raise and give a better understanding to the image and where required, a more concise feedback/critique.

    Look forward to seeing more.

I figured it was a dumpster or container of some kind. I have a similar image of an Eagle with a red background from Homer. The BG was a red container you see on the back of large trucks.

I would open up the shadows near the leg some and sharpen the face more.

Nice detail in the fox. Red reflection is unfortunate but not a real hard thing to do something with in ps if you have a mind to. Look forward to seeing more. Well done.
