    Nice pose, perch and BG. Liked the dramatic lighting as well. I am thinking you weren't expecting this one. Focus seems to be a bit behind the eye....SS not high enough to freeze the motion. I think there is also some room for the highlights to be toned down.

    Like the pose and the perch Jon. Nice composition too. You don't quite have enough SS to pull off the shot though. The whites look a little hot, so you could have backed off to -1 EV. Bumping the ISO to 800, along with more negative EC would have given you an extra 1 2/3 stops of shutter speed.

    Thanks Kaustubh & Doug, I had a sneaky feeling that is what you were going to say. I agree entirely with your comments, I checked the histogram at the scene but of course by then it was too late, normally -0.67 does the trick but the light was quite bright today. Not all is lost I have some other shots at -1 and some at -0.67 that worked.

    Nice pose and comp. Jon. and pleasant soft BG colors. Agree with others regarding SS and toning highlights a bit.
