    This handsome male was enjoying the early morning sun and posing nicely. Not long after this I heard a whirrr of wings and there he was flat out just above the grass with a hawk in hot pursuit a few metres behind. The pigeon had too much turbo for the hawk and made it to safety after a 200 metre chase.

    Brilliant image Colin . If only you could have avoided the green patch in the BG , it would have been killer !! BTW , the bird is a beauty . Looks so much like a quail !!!

    Mesmermizing bird. I'd scoot him over to the right a bit and have him looking into the picture.

    What an amazing looking bird! Good exp., color, and detail. Agree about crop not being ideal, but just not sure about solution.

    Interesting comments, thanks. I started with a wider crop on LHS but tightened it because I have been pinged a bit for leaving too much room around birds!
