    Shot this in Goa , handheld from a boat . This is a very shy heron found on the banks of rivers . At the very first alarm , loves to get in the mangroves . Was lucky to get a clear shot .

    Shutters :1/800
    Speed :ISO 200
    Aperture :F 5.6
    Compensation :-1/3rd stop

    Very nice indeed. In Australia it is the Striated Heron- probably a genetic relative but looks much the same. They are such interesting birds to watch as they stalk their fishy prey.

    Very nice. I like the walking pose, intent stare, muddy feet and great fine feather detail.
    Overall I think I might brighten the image slightly.

    Hi Rakesh, this is similar to our Green-backed Heron. Nice low angle image with subtle light, good exposure and great detail. Love those muddy feet and striding pose.
