Another shot from Sax Zim Bog in northern Minnesota taken this past weekend. Many of the species in the Bog can also be found in the area of Northwestern Ontario in which I live, but in the 6 years I've lived here I've never seen a Boreal Chickadee, so I was quite excited to photograph this beautiful little guy.

Beautiful bird. I like the muted tones and complementary colours of the bird and the background. Good strong diagonal line by the branch adds to the composition.
Great detail in the bird and I agree that the smooth BG compliments the bird well. I do find the twig/lichen in the top right a little distracting but that's just being picky.

Beautiful shot, Jeff. What a nice perch. Bird angle is excellent...so are the details. Sharp where it should be. Well composed and exposed. I am liking the shallow DOF here...perch, head, feet are sharp. Superb.
Superb. A crop from the bottom to lose the llc branch cleans it up nicely. Love the soft light and the sharpness.
