    Bald Eagles were taking turns sitting on the nest. This Eagle was hunting and in a matter of moments had a small nutria in its talons that it dropped to the other Eagle in the nest

    handheld, slo moving boat Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana.

    canon 7d 100-400L 235mm f/5.6 1/500s ISO 400 Manual mode 19pt AF (I think) as that was what I was experimenting with

    all suggestions welcome

    Steve:

    Nice underwing illumination. I think it would be more effective if the lower wing was more extended(visible), from a slightly different bank.

    Good exposure overall. Might be able to tease out a bit more detail from the whites on the upper neck.

    I might consider slightly less space in front.
