Default circle of life- Black Vultures

while the Bald Eagles (aka Beauty) are on their nests in the Atchafalaya Basin, the circle of life (beast) was very apparent. Bird life in the basin is amazingly abundant and the emergence of the Bald Eagle population in South Central Louisiana is quite a story

Hi steve - Interesting image - just personal opinions here - but I think the bird on the right is stronger than the one on the left even with the action of the bird on the left - in other words I might crop out the bird on the left - IMHO the action is not clear enough and there is not enough separation between the bird and the background to make it really stand out. My eye is drawn straight to the bird on the right and then searches around to try and find a point to lock onto on the LHS.

    Just IMHO :)

what beautiful, strange birds - those green and black feathers are incredible. my eye is pulled to the bird in back more than the bird in front too --- if you select the two birds, the foreground and the tree, and put them on a new layer - then blur the background a bit, I wonder if the birds might stand out more? would love to see more photos of these guys...

Steve, I may be incorrect in this but I think this scene has the potential to have more interest if there was some event going on. I am not seeing really a definitive event.

Chris, I can agree with that...I wish I could have been a bit earlier...pretty much this carcass is all done...so focusing on the sharper bird is a pretty good strategy. I actually have much sharper images of the right bird....and one with a bit more action but a inconsiderate twig is in the way...appreciate all the feedback...gives me something to work with..

Sure, glad I could help. I think photography is a bit like fishing, there are times when we're bound to get skunked.
