Excellent pose! The look on his face, the back leg just starting to come up. To me, he's got something in his sights and he's ready to move. The red in the eyes just jump out at me and the catchlight is a big plus.
Nice detail, exposure, color, and sharpness.
I can't really think of anything to add...

Ian, you've got nice details and that eye is bewitching...but the pose/angle is not the strongest for me. I feel the legs are a little cut off at the bottom of the frame and it also feels like he'll bang his head on the top of the frame when he catches whatever it is he's hunting for! In other words, I'd add a bit of canvas - it feels really tight to me.

Very nice detail in the feathers and nice choice of aperture, too. He's sharp from front to back. I also like how you caught the yellow of his eye so it mirrors the yellow in the legs.

hi Ian - techs look solid - agree with Jules though - just a little too tight all around - feels cramped.
Im also wondering if this has a slight yellow cast??

Nice one Ian. The eye is outstanding of course and is tack sharp. On my monitor I'm seeing nice warm light. Agree the subject is a bit tight in the frame.

Thanks folks. This will give me the opportunity to try adding real-estate (something I'm just now learning how to do). Lance, I believe the yellow is just the evening light, but I could try backing it off.
