Default wild mustard bloom in Sonoma vineyards

    First landscape post at BPN.

    50D + 300L f/4 + 1.4x, handheld; ISO 400, f5.6, 1/1000. Cropped very slightly top & bottom.

This is a new-ish vineyard, hence the posts with no gnarly vines or trunks showing.Name: mustard in bloom-9486-2.jpg

Nice color contrast and use of selective focus. Good composition.

Beautiful ! Loved the way the parallel fence posts run into the frame. Beautiful colours.
The shallow DOF you've chosen makes this even more interesting.
What a fine image to begin your account in landscapes' forum Allen !

Hi Allen,Welcome to the forum. Different way of handling this type of image which I think is effective. The image has a sort of dreamy quality due to most of it being OOF. The fence adds alot to the image guiding the viewer to the rear. If this were mine I would crop the bottom a little above your name...

    Hey Allen,
Welcome to the forum! Very nice first post! I think Dave's crop has some merit......but I feel the OP works too! I like the selective focus and how you've composed this with the fence posts and the layers of bloom. Looking forward to more of your work!

Welcome Allen - Great first post.

I agree with Dave that the bottom can be cropped some. For me, my eye stalls for a moment on the OOF area at the bottom, but is led into the image but the strong converging lines. As Roman and others stated, OP works for them so it is up to you on which way to go
