    Default Fractalius Cuban Iguana

Flying to Cuba on Tuesday, thought I would post a fractalius of a Cuban Iguana that I photographed a few years ago. Fract on BG layer reduced to 50% and also masked back in more of the iguana with eraser tool at 20%.

Hoping to post a recreate tomorrow before leaving on Tuesday afternoon.

    Look forward to comments.

Well done Andrew! I like the black squiggly lines! Any hints on the settings in Fract to achieve the black lines instead of white ones?

Andrew, oh gosh, I love this! The colors are really nice and I love the fract. work. The only nit (and it's a very small one) is I wish there was more of an outline on his nose right above the mouth - it looks kind of smudgy. I like the little hint of color in the eye also.

    Thanks for comments, much appreciated!

Dan, I like using the "Rounded" preset and then tweak with the sliders to get the desired effect. I usually set the strength slider about half way.

Cheryl, I guess I have to go back and work on the nose a bit. I tried to rebuild it. I guess the tones were similar and when I applied the fract the tip of the nose disappeared / blended into the background.

Andrew, I love this effect and have made a few presets that start with the black lines. Works really well on reptiles and birds too. I like the way it makes this old boy look. Hope you have a great trip and bring back some more cool images!

Dan, you can see what the "line creation mode" buttons (just to the right of the "radius" sliders) do in Fractalius by selecting the "Reset All Settings" at the bottom of the panel and then clicking on them. When the lines of the buttons are white, you get the familiar white fract highlights. When the lines on the buttons are black, you get black highlights. Sure wish there was a manual for this thing though...

Beautiful frac image, Andrew! I love the golden colors and the effect on the iguana's scales. If it were mine, I might lighten the darker areas in the ULC just a tad. Very well done.

This is excellent Andrew! Love the illustrated look, details & texture of Iguana. Nice fract treatment and composition. I know the eye is not that big, but I'm wondering if you can get more pop out of it, maybe a bit more orange color and some darker lines around it. Very nicely done.
