As I was driving through some open farmland looking for various raptors, I came across this turkey vulture eating some sort of carrion on the side of the road. The conditions were overcast and there was a background of snow. Getting out of my car wasn't an option, as I was afraid it would scare the bird away, and I was on a rather heavily traveled road. I rather like the white background, now, but of course would have preferred some sort of solid color. The image is nearly full frame.

GREAT detail that adds to the interest. You may have been able to add more pos exposure compensation to add some more detail to the darker feathers as the background will be white anyway.
Thanks for the compliments. I'll try a new edit, bringing up the shadows to see if I can get any more detail. I seem to recall that when i was editing the photo, the darker feathers started to get somewhat washed out.
Hi Ryan. On my monitor the exposure looks perfect. You've captured an impressive amount of detail in this TV. I'm normally not a big fan of square crops but I could see cropping a little off the left of the frame.
Colors look fine on my monitor--I think you may wash out the blacks if you lighten it, as you indicated. I like Doug's suggestion re: cropping from left (I happen to like square crops when the subject warrants it, but that's just me) The first time I saw one of these up close I could not believe how big, and ugly, they are.
Good sharp detail on the head Ryan, and I like how we can see through the nostril on the bill. I agree with Doug to move him back to the left in the frame.
