    What a spectacular little bird, Michael. I like the environmental setting. Given the bird could be sharper, I think you made a good choice in your crop. Just capturing this uncommon guy must have been a thrill.

    Thanks. It was definitely a thrill. I got lucky. I was "stalking" turkeys (futile) and he flew into a tree that I was approaching.

    I think two things hurt the sharpness. I think the reds are blown (a first for me but this little bird is red with a capital R) and the distance.

    I didn't break the reciprocity rule but I agree. Had I known I was going to run into a VFC I would have at least had a monopod.
