This Goldeney was prepairing to dive as you can see from the protective cover on it's eye. This was full frame so a bit tighter then i would have liked..

On one hand i usually prefer to shoot Ducks from a lower angle but in this case it was not possible as the hide i was in is placed at 1 meter above water level. Furthermore i think that shooting this at eye level would mean losing some of the impact and details such as the fanned tail.
Question about the techs: I'm surprised to see a relatively high ISO and relatively slow shutter speed, even nearly wide open, in what looks like good light. Am I missing something?
