    Default Pectoral showdown

Taken last fall. These Pectoral Sandpipers, although looking rather friendly and happy to see each other, are actually in the midst of a rift. I was photographing a Dunlin when I caught this action in the corner of my eye and actually was able to turn a fire off a few frames. Just got the tail end of it as they parted ways seconds after this. I guess a bit more room below wouldn't hurt here.

    Canon Rebel XT + 100-400L @400mm, 1/125s., f/8, ISO400, +1.7 EC, handheld.

Excellent esp for a grab shot, I think the eye to eye stare is superb!

Cool interaction and good sharpness considering a fairly low shutter speed. Usually, wings out like this indicate high levels of aggression.
