    European Roller photographed in Kruger National Park. A summer migrant from Siberia and India.

    50D/EF500f4+1.4/f8 @ 1/1600/iso400/EC -0.33 - Bean bag FF. Removed some twigs from under the tail.

    Great image. Even in it's compressed state it holds up very well zoomed to cover an entire large monitor screen.

    Very nice pose captured. With this pose, a little room below might work better. If mine, I'd also add a little canvas behind the tail.

    Nice pose & capture. What an interesting and unique looking bird, Peter. Looks a bit like plaid coloring on part of the wing. Good details, eye contact, agree maybe some more room on L & bottom. Well done!

    Tack sharp Pieter, and you have captured great feather detail. The colours have come out nicely too. Adding a bit more space on the left will work.

    What I like best about this is the colour of the bird it is a real as real can be. They are tather dull in comparison to some other Rollers but I like the fact that you have left it that way.

    All this plus an unusual pose, very nice indeed

    Thanks all, I appreciate your comments and agree that more room bottom and left will be an improvement, will try adding canvas as this is almost FF.
