Male topi photographed in the Mara Reserve. He had just been rubbing his horns in the dirt, part of his territorial display.

This is nice, and would have been even nicer with a slightly more open eye, but you got the eyelash![]()
Lovely image Hilary , Love those dirty horns

Hi Hilary, I think a little lightening and a tad more USM might work to bring out more detail within the subject as there is more to come out of it I know. The horns & bridge of the nose to me are the main areas, but be careful with the ears.![]()
Perhaps a little'bland' sorryin relation to comp, medium, and approach, compared to more recent postings, but still a nice portrait, although as Harshad spotted, the dirt on the horns is a nice touch.
Look forward to more from the trip.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Hilary - not an animal we see often here. I agree the dirt adds to the image. I like how the shadow sort of mimics the topi's coloring. Some good advice above.

Lovely texture and sharpness in this image Hillary...Great portrait
Thanks for the feedback.
Steve, bland was what I felt was needed after a day of predator 'action'.
Nice portrait Hilary. Dirt on the horns is a nice touch. Well done.

can't add much here Hilary - nice details and I dig the dirty horns (don't want to mix that term up, might come up with something slightly obscene). Wish for more eye contact and better light
their Southern cousins are called "Tsessebe" and I will try and post a photo later on...
