Keeping with the squirrels theme. Here is one I found in Refiel Bird Sanctuary, BC (been having fun with a northern hawk owl up there http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...read.php/79516). Did some research on this black guy as I had never seen one before. Turns out they are not an indivdual species but are a color variant of the gray. Seems as though they are growing in # as well.

Thanks for looking, comments and critiques appreciated.

Like the way you've framed this with the rough hewn bark. The eye is nice and bright and the claws on the back foot show up well. I wonder why the numbers are increasing, interesting.

I agree on the nice framing, interesting to here about the "evolution".

I wonder if anything similar is happening with the non-indigenous poulation in UK?

Like the soft BG Todd, with the curved branch framing the squirrel nicely.

Todd- I like the comp and the curve of the tail. Not sure that this is a black squirrel though. The ones I have seen are truly jet black.
