Just missed this but I have a reasonable excuse, hand holding from a moving safari vehicle is dificult, but amusing.

The beeaters follow the vehicle hoping for a thrown up bug.

Taken in Savure Marsh area o Chobe National Park, Botswana, 5th January 2011.

Ken, this is superb. great colors on the bird and a wonderfully sweet BG. Loved the comp and excellent sharpness. It must be so hard doing flight photography in these conditions...birds so close and in a moving vehicle. I remember reading that as soon as the vehicle stops they go away....so fascinating.

Well done Ken I have been trying to get these guys in flight for some time, no luck yet. Nice light with lovely natural colours.

The bird looks great against that green BG, and the sharpness is good. I would have preferred better wing position and a slight head turn towards the viewer. I'm sure this must have been a tough capture when taken from a moving vehicle!

Very well done Ken. Has to be tough from a moving vehicle. Great colors, bg and sharpness.

Even if only 1 in 50 are worth a look at it certainly is worth a try, plus it passes the time when there is a quiet day on the animal front
