Ram, excellent angle, comp, perch and light. But yes, the bird does not look very sharp. Big crop?

Agree about the sharpness and, echoing Kaus, would like to know whether the problem is a big crop. Also, why f/4 and 1/2500 for a stationary bird? Were you set up for a take-off shot?

Ram, I neglected to add that I like the mud on the feet of the lark and that the lighting was fine indeed. It's a well-exposed shot, and the re-post is livelier.
