    Hello Eric,

I wish the angle was a little more to the left, allowing you to see a more "profile" look in the bird. I also find the top left leaf very distracting from your main subject.

Hello Eric. The color and lighting is very lovely in this image but I find the bird slightly centered and would prefer to see a little cropped from the left and actually all around to make the bird larger in the frame . A little more of a head turn would be desirable too and if possible to get more of the bird. Thanks for sharing

    Hi Eric,

I think this is what they mean about the crop.

A couple other pointers: 1/60 is hardly any s/s for such a focal length, I'm surprised it came out sharp! Since you were using ISO 200, you could have gone the extra stop to iso 400 and get a s/s of 1/125, not perfect, but way better.

Digital tends to oversaturate reds, hiding detail. So go to Hue/Saturation, look for the res in the drop menu, and go back a couple of points te reveal more of the lost detail.

Hope to make your BPN learning experience a great one!

    Eric,
I like the wat you were thinking. I do like Fabs crop.
IMO more room at the bottom would improve this fine image.
Even though I can not see the lower one half of the bird, I know about what size they are, and the "feel" is something is missing ( the lower half of the bird).

I love the eye contact and man it is tack sharp.

Overall a very nice image! A bit of tweaking puts this over the top.

I agree with James here, more room at the bottom is what is called for. I like the leave at the top right.

This is an interesting thread with multiple suggestions for cropping which goes to show you there are more then one way to skin a cat. (No cats were harmed in creating this critique.)
